Literacy Specialists 3.23.20


The authors discuss six literacy experiences a child should have every day. This continues to guide a lot of my thinking around a community of readers and writers and what it looks like to create our own set of beliefs and ensure children have these daily experiences.



Natalie Wexler wrote, “The Knowledge Gap.” This podcast explores the ways to build knowledge for all students, regardless of background, and engage kids in authentic learning that enhances their literacy experiences.



What should our anchor literacy experiences be for each student every day, and what are ways to do this beyond a standard class or block of time?
